Collection

The aim of the Fundamental Library of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU FB) is to provide library users with literature or information about it necessary for the study, research and advisory activities. Therefore one of the main tasks of the LLU FB is to collect maximally completely all the literature published in Latvia and as much as possible also abroad in such subjects as crop production, horticulture, agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, food industry and nutrition science, home economics, wood processing, forestry etc. The collection of the Library contains also literature related to natural, engineering and social sciences.

Publications for studies and research are available at the User Service Department, and at the Depository Library of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Reference services is provided by the Bibliographic Information Department.

Any of the Library's catalogues can be used for the search of the necessary information sources. The bibliographic databases and the Interlibrary loan service can be used for the search of materials not owned by the Library.
